Arborist Apprentice

Hiring in Lower Mainland (Langley Location)

The Opportunity

Spending all your time outside, the Arborist Apprentice is a vital part of the Tree Care Team. From hands-on tree care to customer service and leadership, successful applicants will need the stamina and motivation to work in a fast paced and physical environment. A typical day in the Tree Care Division could include hazard abatement, lift pruning, structural pruning, fertilization, stump grinding and planting. Bring your A game!

Our tree care team works a rotating schedule of 5 X 8-hour shifts per week beginning at 7:30 am. Variants due to weather may affect this schedule. Weekend work is a possibility. Successful applicants must be flexible. Overtime is paid at a rate of time-and-a-half. Punctuality and reliability is fundamental to this role.

Your Experience

  • Driver's License (minimum of Class 5 + Air Brakes) 

  • Minimum of 2 Years experience in Climbing (spurred and spur-less), pruning (varied hand tools), chainsaw use (felling) 

  • Leadership skills 

  • Exceptional communication: Fluent (Reading, Writing, Speaking) in English 

  • Comfortable working at heights 

  • Excellent hand and eye coordination 

  • Able to consistently lift 50-80 lbs 

  • Computer literate 

  • Capable of independent and team work 

  • Own, reliable vehicle (transit is not acceptable) 

  • Heavy machinery skills, First Aid Level 1, and ISA Arborist certification all an asset



​The compensation range for this position is $22-28/hour. Wages are set based on experience and qualifications. Individuals with ISA certifications receive a premium. Employees in this division are also eligible for company profit sharing after one year of service.
